Number 13 ranked Thatcher (9-3) faced off against number 4 ranked Safford (10-0) Wednesday night in the first round of the 3A State Boys Soccer Playoff. Safford and Thatcher have played twice this season with Safford winning both games. Safford prevailed 3-1 against Thatcher and will play the winner of #12 Sabino and #5 American Leadership Academy on Saturday, February 3 in Safford.
