THATCHER — The suspects in an armed robbery in Willcox are in custody, thanks to the work of Thatcher Police Chief Shaffen Woods.

On Tuesday, at about 3:10 p.m., the Medicine Shoppe in Willcox was robbed at gunpoint of prescription medications. A photo of the suspects’ vehicle was shared with area law enforcement agencies, and, about 90 minutes later, Woods spotted the vehicle at a Thatcher gas station.

He followed the vehicle to the suspects’ home and called for additional units. The male suspect, identified as Peter Waller Jr., 39, of Thatcher, left but was stopped by Thatcher Police officers, who took him into custody without further incident.

The female suspect, identified as Jordan Waller, 33, of Thatcher, had gone in the home. She also was taken into custody without incident.

Willcox Police obtained search warrants for the Wallers’ cars and home, and several items linking Peter Waller to the robbery were found. Peter Waller was also found to be a convicted felon and prohibited possessor of firearms, of which several were found in the home.

Peter Waller was transported to Cochise County Jail and charged with three counts of armed robbery, three counts of aggravated robbery, three counts of aggravated assault, three counts of endangerment, possession/use of narcotic drugs, prohibited possessor, possession/drug paraphernalia, possession of stolen property, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, tampering with evidence, disorderly conduct with a weapon and theft.

Jordan Walller was released at the scene; however charges are being reviewed by Graham County Attorney’s Office.

“We are proud of all the police officers involved,” Woods and Willcox Police Chief Dale Hadfield said in a joint statement. “We are also proud of citizens who assist our departments through information sharing to keep our communities safe. Investigations such as these show the importance of partnerships in law enforcement and the quality of work performed by our Police Departments. We remind citizens and businesses to remember if you are ever in a similar situation, give the criminal what they ask for and do not confront them. Immediately call 911 and allow your local law enforcement to respond.”
