Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest 2025-2026
VFW Auxiliary National presents this National Scholarship to assist students who wish to further their education. This scholarship contest recognizes young artists and encourages patriotism in youth. Entries will be judged on the originality of concept, presentation and patriotism expressed, content of how it relates to patriotism and clarity of ideas, design technique and total impact of work. Grades 9-12
3-Dimensional Patriotic Art Contest 2025-2026
This National Scholarship will assist students who wish to further their education. This scholarship contest recognizes young artists and encourages patriotism in youth. Entries will be judged on the originality of concept, presentation and patriotism expressed, content of how it relates to patriotism and clarity of ideas, design technique and total impact of work. (3-D Printer usage not acceptable). Grades 9-12
VFW Auxiliary Scholarships and Art Contests for Schools
The VFW Auxiliary Post 10385 in Thatcher, AZ, proudly supports local students through a variety of scholarships and art contests. These opportunities allow students to express their creativity and patriotism while competing for awards at multiple levels—local, district, state, and national. All submissions must be in hand at the Gila Valley VFW no later than March 30, 2026.
1. Illustrating America Art Contest
This contest encourages students from kindergarten through 8th grade to showcase their artistic talents by illustrating American themes.
Local Awards:
Grades K-2
1st Place: $50
2nd $25, 3rd $15, 4th $10
Grades 3-5
1st Place: $50
2nd $50, 2nd $25, 3rd $15, 4th $10
Grades 6-8
1st Place: $75, 2nd $50, 3rd $25, 4th $15
2. Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest (YACPAC) – 2D Art
This contest invites high school students to create 2D art that expresses their love for country and patriotism. It offers significant monetary awards for local winners.
Local Awards:
Grades 9-12
1st Place: $250
2nd Place: $100
3rd Place: $50
3. 3D Patriotic Art Contest
Students in high school (grades 9-12) can showcase their talents by creating 3D artwork reflecting patriotic themes. Local winners have the opportunity to advance to district, state, and national levels.

3rd Place: $50
How to Submit
To participate, students should submit their artwork to the local VFW Auxiliary Post for the chance to compete locally, with the opportunity to advance further.
