SAFFORD — For the 10th year in a row, providers from across the state are coming together to help Gila Valley veterans.

The 2023 Veterans and Families Resource Fair will take place Friday, Nov. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Graham County Fairgrounds.

Chris Gibbs, with Gila Valley Veterans Services, said more than 50 service and benefit providers will be on hand to talk with vets and their families; everything from the federal and state benefit providers, medical and dental providers under the VA, and those who can help with pet services, to educational service providers, substance abuse counselors, those who help with homelessness and more.

“In the sense of a veteran, sometimes we forget. What do we need to do to get certain benefits? What things are available to us?” Gibbs said.

Army Lt. Colonel Dana Allmond (ret.), the interim director of Arizona Veterans Services, will also be in attendance to talk with vets about the issues they are currently facing.

A free meal will be provided to all who attend.

Sponsors include the United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties, Arizona @ Work, Safford Lions Club, Arizona Department of Veterans Services, Arizona Veterans Standdown Alliance and Graham County.
