United Way seeking partnership grant proposals in Q4

SAFFORD — Denise Benton, the new executive director for the United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties, said there’s been a slight change in the organization’s annual grant cycle.

In the first quarter, United Way accepted applications for grants focusing on economic development, in the second quarter the grants applications focused education and the third quarter — taking place now through July 1 — will focus on grants around health.

“And then in September, we have a whole new concept that we’re trying this year,” Benton said. “It’s called collaborative partnerships, some feasibility and planning grants. That one, we’re going to be learning from in quarter four what those all look like. Those will be open from Sept. 1 to Oct. 1.”

The United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties is also accepting job applications, specifically for the role of grant manager. The person hired will assist those seeking funding from United Way through the grant application process, as well as assist the governing board’s grant review committee.

Resumes and cover letters for the grant manager position will be accepted through June 30. Full job description and application portal can be found at Careers – United Way of Graham and Greenlee County (grahamgreenleeunited.org).
