GRAHAM COUNTY — A male teen was referred to Juvenile Probation for assault, following a series of incidents that reportedly started at Roper Lake State Park and ended on Latigo Street.
A witness said a female was telling the 16-year-old to get his hands off her, and another said she saw the 16-year-old dragging a girl across the roadway by her hair. When witnesses tried to intervene, they said the 16-year-old attempted to fight. Two of the witnesses were able to subdue the 16-year-old until Graham County Sheriff’s deputies arrived.
The female was transported to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Another witness told deputies that the 16-year-old had become violent when out at Roper Lake earlier in the day and a different female was injured there. She was also at MGRMC for treatment of a possible broken hand.
Deputies said a strong odor of alcohol emanated from the 16-year-old, who refused to speak with deputies unless a lawyer was present. Deputies then contacted teen’s father, who requested that whoever supplied his underage son with alcohol also be charged.
