SAFFORD – An update to the Arizona Department of Health Services COVID-19 webpage, showing an increase in positive cases in Graham County, is an error.
That’s according to Brian Douglas, director of the county’s Health Department.
“Last night, two Graham County COVID-19 results from the state lab tested negative. Unfortunately . . . the state lab entered the results into the system as positive,” Douglas said in an e-mail to Gila Valley Central.
AZDHS reported the number of positive COVID-19 cases in Graham County had grown to four when, according to Douglas, the total remains two. AZDHS posted its update total to its website late Thursday evening.
Graham County Health Department reports that 52 people have been tested for COVID-19 thus far, with 39 tests coming back negative and 11 tests results still pending.
Statewide, the number of cases has risen to 665, with 13 deaths. On Thursday, AZDHS declared the virus is widespread in the state.
Greenlee County still reports no positive cases thus far. Greenlee has tested 28 people thus far, with 25 coming back as negative. Three test results are pending.
