Tribe closing in on 100 COVID-19 cases

SAN CARLOS — The San Carlos Apache Tribe announced there are nearly 100 tribal members who have tested positive for COVID-19.

Over the weekend, the tribe announced an additional 20 tribal members have tested positive, bringing the total to 99 — 79 on the reservation and 20 off — with two deaths off reservation. Eleven of the cases are in Bylas and 27 in Peridot, the two districts in Graham County.

The new cases brings Graham County’s total to 65 positive cases with two deaths.

Greenlee County also added a new positive case over the weekend, bringing the county’s total to 15 with one death.
