Terry K Johnson

Terry K Johnson, a resident of Bryce, entered into eternal life April 23, 2024. Terry was born December 11, 1947, in Oskaloosa, Iowa to William and Johnny Johnson. He was the oldest of 5 siblings: Pam, Kathy, Bill, and Brenda. He was a graduate of Pima High School and was very active in athletics. He married Sharon Hancock on March 24, 1967, and they were later sealed in the Mesa Temple January 6, 1971. They have 4 children: Cammie, Dulcie, Justin, and Yankton.

He had a passion for horses, wrangling wild cows, and training and working his stock dogs. He also had many talents including: leatherwork, macramé, archery, braiding horse tack, and welding, including building his own stock trailer from the ground up which he claimed was “bullet proof.” He enjoyed cowboy poetry and telling stories about his adventures to anyone who would listen. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they loved him. He was well known throughout the Gila Valley for his work doctoring livestock as a “Shade Tree Vet” and his service to others. He donated thousands of hours to anyone who was in need as well as in various church callings. He was a coach, teacher, cattleman, father, grandfather, Papa and storyteller.

Terry is survived by: Sharon, his wife of 57 years; his sister, Kathy; his brother, Bill; his children, Cammie and PJ Allred, Dulcie and Brian Kirkley, Justin and Cari Johnson, and Yankton and Stephanie Johnson; his thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Terry will be conducted Friday morning, May 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at the Pima Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Bishop Brendan Cluff of the Pima Fourth Ward. Concluding services will follow in the Bryce Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday morning, May 3, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until 9:45 a.m., at the Pima Chapel Junior Sunday School Room of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
