MORENCI — Sunflower Environmental wants to get more youths interested in science, technology, engineering and math; and is offering grants to help teachers with STEM programming.
Joyann Hernandez, owner of Sunflower Environmental Compliance Group, recently announced the awarding of a $300 grant to Cassandra Hernandez, who teaches third grade at Morenci’s Metcalf Elementary School.
“Our grant will be open again April of next year for the following school year, and we’re now opening it up to one $250 grant for Greenlee and one $250 grant for Graham,” Joyann said.
The criteria for teachers to apply for the grants can be found at Beyond the Environment (sunflower-ecg.com).
Sunflower Environmental describes itself as “an environmental compliance and training company that provides businesses with unique consulting services and custom environmental compliance and engineering training.”
