THATCHER — The Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition’s third annual Summer Bash Family Night will take place Friday, starting at 5:30 p.m., at H. Lyle Grant Thatcher Town Park on Reay Lane and U.S. Highway 70.

The event will feature food, games, activities, a pinata and a scavenger hunt with prizes for all participants.

“Our questions are going to be focusing on things like substance abuse and things like that. Like what is THC and stuff like that,” said Youth Advocate Miley Preston “It’s just questions about that to help educate the people.”

The Town of Thatcher will be serving hot dogs, chips and drinks; Thatcher Police will talk about the risks of drug use as well as provide a demonstration of the department’s K-9 unit; and the Thatcher Fire Department will provide water activities.

One More Run will offer a chance to take part in dummy roping and there will be a free showing of the family movie “Zootopia.”

There is no cost to attend or take part in any of the activities.
