THATCHER — The Town of Thatcher is looking for a few high school students who want to help their community while learning about government.

The town is taking applications for its first Youth Council.

The Youth Council requires a two-year commitment and one of those years the student must be a high school senior. Youth Council members must also attend Town Council meetings, the third Monday of every month, at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall.

Participants will work with town leadership on community events, representing the town at the annual League of Cities and Towns Conference in Phoenix during the summer, as well as gain leadership skills and acquire community service hours.

To apply, contact Annie Reidhead at Thatcher Town Hall at 928-428-2233.
