Storms produce small wildfires in Graham, Greenlee

GRAHAM COUNTY — Four wildfires were started as storms moved through the Gila Valley on Thursday.

The first spotted was the Hole fire at 3:11 p.m. Thursday. The fire, northeast of Clark Peak in the Mount Graham Wilderness area, is currently listed at a half-acre in size.

The White fire, southeast of Stowe Knoll, is one-quarter acre in size and it was spotted Thursday at 5:28 p.m.

The Hackberry fire, northeast of Sanchez, is the largest of Thursday’s fires, currently active at 200 acres. It was first spotted at 5:32 p.m.

In Greenlee County, just west of Guthrie Peak, is the Basin fire. It’s at 35.3 acres and was first spotted at 5:48 p.m.

Only the White fire has been fully contained as of 3 p.m. Friday.
