SAFFORD —The Gila Watershed Partnership is conducting its Spring Native Plant Sale, with two special in-person native plant sales events.

“This Friday and Saturday (March 31 and April 1), and then again I believe it’s the 14th and the 15th, we’ll be having walk-in sales,” said Steve Plath, Native Plant Nursery manager for GWP.

Friday’s in-person native plant sales will be open from noon to 2 p.m. for GWP members, and from 2-5 p.m. for the general public. On Saturday, sales will be open to everyone from 8 a.m. to noon.

Throughout the two-week event, the plant sale will also be online. Buyers can select their favorite plants on the website, Virtual Spring Plant Sale | Gila Watershed Partnership (gwpaz.org), and every Friday, GWP schedules times for plant pick-up at its greenhouse on Eastern Arizona College’s Discovery Park Campus.

During the in-person sales and the Friday pick-ups for online purchases, Plath and his wife, Julie, will be available to answer any planting questions.

All funds raised from the sale supports Gila Watershed Partnership’s effort to improve the water quality and ecosystem condition of the Upper Gila Watershed.
