GRAHAM COUNTY — A woman who suffered a lacerated tricep, injured ribs and a partial collapse of her right lung was charged with assault.
Graham County Sheriff’s deputies recently responded to East Rodeo Drive following reports of a woman suffering injury. There, the woman said she was struck with a “crowbar” by her sister.
Deputies interviewed the sister, who said the pair had gone to a convenience store. The injured woman had been drinking and became agitated on the way home. The sister said the injured woman pierced the skin of the sister with a sharp object and began pulling her hair and attempting to slam her head into the steering wheel.
After the sister stopped the vehicle, she said she was in fear for her life, and grabbed anything she could to fend off the attacker, striking her multiple times with a tire iron.
Deputies said the injured woman appeared intoxicated, and would only repeat that she was attacked with a crowbar and point to her injuries.
She was charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, and transported to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center, where she was admitted to the intensive care unit for treatment of her injuries.
