Sherrie Lynn Blake

Sherrie Lynn Blake, of Safford, entered into rest May 5, 2020, at the age of 65. She was a lifelong resident of Safford. Sherrie was born in Safford on Dec. 30, 1954, to parents George Lavon Blake and Donna Lee Blake, along with her only sibling, George Blake Jr.

She was raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended Safford High School, graduating in 1972. After high school, she attended Arizona State University, where she graduated with a degree in elementary education and became a preschool teacher.

She was known to be somewhat of a shy person but she always made good choices in life. In her free time, she loved doing crafts and spending time with her dog, Pepe. Words that summed up Sherrie’s life were quiet, steady, and faithful.  

She is survived by her brother George Lavon Blake Jr. and his wife, Susan.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, George and Donna Blake; paternal grandparents, George and Eathel Blake; and maternal grandparents, Lionel and Arreta Lee.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 10 a.m., at the Safford Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of McDougal’s Caldwell Funeral Chapel and Gila Valley Crematory.
