Sheriff’s Office Incident Report – November 5, 2026

Graham County Deputies Investigate Daycare Abuse Allegation, Vehicle Fire and Flooded Bridge

The Graham County Sheriff’s Office investigated an allegation of inappropriate treatment of a young child at a local daycare, responded to a vehicle fire near U.S. Highway 70 and received another report of a vehicle stranded in floodwaters at Eden Bridge among 16 incidents documented in its latest report.

One of the more concerning calls came Thursday morning, Nov. 5, when a father requested a welfare check involving his 3-year-old son, who attends a local daycare. According to the incident report, the father alleged that the daycare provider frequently placed the child in timeout for extended periods with air conditioning blowing directly on him. He also reported that she had mentioned spanking the child and sounded pleased about it. The report does not indicate whether deputies conducted an investigation or whether any findings were made.

Flooding remained a concern in the county. At approximately 4:59 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, deputies received a report of an SUV stuck in the water at Eden Bridge. The caller did not know who owned the vehicle or whether anyone was inside. The incident was classified as a welfare check, but the report does not document whether occupants were found or whether the vehicle was recovered.

Later Wednesday evening, at approximately 7:42 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a report of equipment on fire near milepost 334 along U.S. Highway 70. The caller reported that a piece of equipment was burning on the south side of the highway in a pecan orchard. Dispatch notes later identified the equipment as a Bobcat. The report does not provide information about the extent of the damage or the cause of the fire.

Deputies also received a report of a suspicious drone hovering over private property along East Alvillar Road. The caller said the drone appeared to have come from a white truck parked in the hills behind the residence. The owner of the drone was unknown.

Other incidents included a report of a possible violation of an order of protection, a suspicious bag that a caller believed might contain drugs, and a report of a potentially abandoned or crashed vehicle with deployed airbags along East Busby Drive.

The report also documented a complaint involving a dog barking for several hours, a swarm of bees in a tree near a residence along West Palmer Lane, and concerns about two horses near Fort Thomas, one of which was previously reported to be possibly dead and the other in poor condition.

The Sheriff’s Office recorded 16 incidents in the report covering activity beginning Nov. 4 and extending into the morning of Nov. 5. The incident log contains preliminary reports and does not establish the outcome of the investigations or confirm any allegations.
