SAFFORD — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Safford Stake Center will be the site of a day of service this weekend.
On Saturday, as part of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, the stake center will collect items of need to help local food banks and other nonprofit organizations.
Items needed include:
- Diapers and wipes, especially larger sized diapers
- Spaghetti Sauce
- Cooking oil
- Granola bars
- Instant Oatmeal
- Boxed cereal
- Ramen Noodles
- Canned fruit (pop tops is preferred)
- Canned or dried soup
- Hot cocoa
- Jello
- Cake Mixes
- Sugar
- Canned beans
The church is also asking for volunteers with trucks to help deliver the donated items.
The goal is to collect 30,000-40,000 pounds of items for donation.
