SAFFORD — A man who appeared to be trying to steal donations previously made to Great Communities Resource Center found himself under arrest for drug possession.
On Monday, Oct. 16, a Safford Police officer spotted two men rummaging through the donations at the rear of GCRC and ordered them to stop, having encountered them doing the same multiple times in the past.
During a search for stolen items, the officer found one of the men carrying a black box that contained two plastic baggies filled with white power that turned out to be 3.8 grams of methamphetamine. The man reportedly admitted to a meth addiction.
He was taken into custody, charged with possession of a dangerous drug and possession of drug paraphernalia, and booked into Graham County Jail.
Both men were also trespassed from GCRC.
