SAFFORD — Safford Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
According to a release issued by the department, the victim appears to be a teenaged male. His identity and age were not released.
Police were called to the home on the 1600 block of 8th Avenue at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. The victim was treated and transported by Lifeline Ambulance to Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center before being airlifted to University Medical Center in Tucson.
The victim’s condition is currently unknown.
