Safford Police 10-day Incident Report – October 23, 2026

Safford Police Respond to 320 Incidents in 10-Day Period

The Safford Police Department recorded 320 incidents between Oct. 12 and Oct. 22, according to its latest Law Incident Media Summary Report, which includes calls involving traffic incidents, medical emergencies, suspected criminal activity and welfare checks.

One of the most serious incidents occurred shortly after midnight Oct. 13, when police received a report of a 32-year-old man who had fallen from a train. The report described severe injuries, and railroad personnel were contacted to coordinate a response near Bowie. The report does not provide an update on the man’s condition.

On Oct. 13, officers also responded to a two-vehicle collision in which one person reportedly struck their head and experienced chest pain. The report indicated that the people involved were outside their vehicles, with some limping, and that emergency assistance was requested.

Other calls during the reporting period included a reported burglary at a Safford residence on Oct. 14, after a homeowner returned to find damage to the front door and suspected someone had attempted to break in. On Oct. 20, officers also investigated a suspicious situation at Safford Wright Stop after a caller reported an open rear door and a man in the area.

Medical emergencies were another part of the department’s workload. On Oct. 21, officers responded to a report of a 7-year-old boy experiencing a seizure. The child was breathing but was reported to be unresponsive. The incident log later indicated that family members transported him themselves.

The report also documented traffic stops, welfare checks, calls involving juveniles, animal-related incidents and other requests for police assistance.

The department’s report covers incidents logged from 6 a.m. Oct. 12 through 6 a.m. Oct. 22. It provides dispatch notes and preliminary information; it does not establish the final outcome of every incident.
