SAFFORD — The Safford Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee has its first members.

The City Council voted unanimously Monday to appoint five people to the new committee, which will help the city with parks recommendations and prioritize projects.

“The Council has requested a work session to be conducted to discuss the rules of procedure and tasking,” said Jaime Embick, Planning and Community Development director. “Once we have a committee appointed, we can schedule that for the next meeting in August, if the Council would like that.”

Appointed were Pete Gauna, Tad Jacobsen, Tim Linden, Toni Palomino and Nora Rogers.

In addition to offering input on parks and recreation, the committee is tasked with offering suggestions for city beautification projects.
