BENSON — The San Pedro River Arts Council is pleased to present an inspiring and evocative exhibition featuring Artist IreneSofia.

The solo show will be on view from Nov. 4 through Dec. 18 at the Benson Center.

This exhibition invites audiences to immerse themselves in the luminous world of self-portraiture as a powerful means of healing and self-discovery.

In the vibrant world of contemporary graphic artistry, IreneSofia emerges as a luminary, casting beams of joyous radiance through her digitally manipulated photographic images. Her work transcends the boundaries of mere representation, transforming imagery into a visual language of healing and intuitive self-discovery.

IreneSofia’s digital images come alive when printed on Kodak’s Endura Metallic paper. The magic begins with a silvery metallic surface beneath the dye image, acting like a mirror that reflects light back through the pigments. The result is a radiant, almost translucent glow — an ideal medium for the “Radiance of Joy” that her work captures.

With Kodak’s discontinuation of this award-winning paper and no plans for its reintroduction, every print is a one-of-a-kind original, preserving a rare brilliance that can never be reproduced.

There will be a Meet the Artist event Thursday, Nov. 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

IreneSofia is a long-time resident of Safford. She lives with her husband on six acres of pristine desert, overlooking Mount Graham in their passive solar home.
