Rocky fire grows to 873 acres

PERIDOT — The Rocky fire on the western edge of Graham County, north of U.S. Highway 70, has grown to 873 acres and is at zero percent containment.

Fire crews are holding the fire at the 1010 Road, using the roadway as a firebreak.

Assigned to fight the fire are seven type six engines, three hot shot crews, one fire use crew, two type three and two type one helicopters, and one dozer. A type three incident team has been requested.

The fire was discovered May 23 and cause remains under investigation.
