Rock, pop, country and metal at this year’s Battle of the Bands

SAFFORD — The line-up for this year’s Battle of the Bands is set, and there’s something for every musical taste.

The schedule is:

Noon — Miss Misery

12:30 p.m. — The Crown Syndicate — rock and roll

1 p.m. — Spit — rock and roll

1:30 p.m. — Znora — rock and roll

2 p.m. — Palindrome — alternative

2:30 p.m. — Dirty Jo

3 p.m. — Rad Stacey — alternative

3:30 p.m. — Farquaad — trash pop

4 p.m. — Midnight Thunder

4:30 p.m. — Sonflowers — rock and roll

5 p.m. — Celestial Exile — metal

5:30 p.m. — 4 Piece Scotts — rock and roll

6 p.m. — Lucky J’s — country

6:30 p.m. — Borrowed Time — metal

7 p.m. — Happy and the Ghosts — pop

7:30 p.m. — Plane Jane — pop

8 p.m. — Crimzon Nightmare — death metal

8:30 — Second Guess

Start times are subject to change.

The winning band will take home $2,000 cash, with second place earning a $500 Richard’s Music gift certificate, and a $250 Richard’s Music gift certificate for third place; plus awards for best vocalist, best guitar player, best bassist, best drummer and best specialty instrument.

Battle of the Bands will take place Saturday, July 8, at Graham County Fairgrounds. Admission is $5, which also gives entrance to Safford Rotary Club’s Nickel Picnic, where hot dogs are just 5 cents each; and the SEACUS Budweiser Beer Tent, with proceeds to benefit Meals on Wheels.
