SAFFORD — Add extra time for trips to Willcox or Tucson for the next month.
Arizona Department of Transportation announced lane restrictions on U.S. Highway 191, south of Safford, while crews perform pavement preservation of the roadway.
The work will take place on about 10 miles of road, between State Routes 266 and 366, leaving only one lane open. Drivers will follow a pilot vehicle through the construction zone.
The work will take place between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily and is scheduled to run through May 10.
Drivers are advised to plan for delays, obey posted speed limits and use extra caution around construction personnel.
