Republicans continue voter registration dominance in Graham County

PHOENIX — The most recent voter registration data released by the Arizona Secretary of State’s Office Thursday shows the number of voters in Graham County increasing by a small amount.

The number of registered voters in Graham County climbed by 142 between April and July, to 21,238, an increase of seven-tenths of 1 percent.

Republicans make up the majority of Graham County’s voters, at 11,027, up 34 from April; followed by independents at 5,495, up 78; and Democrats at 4,420, up 1.

In Greenlee County, the number of registered voters decreased by 1 between April and July, to 4,790.

Again, Republicans are the dominant group of voters, at 1,939, up 5 from April; followed by independents at 1,510, holding flat; and Democrats at 1,241, down 19.

Cochise County, which shares both state Legislative and Congressional districts with Graham and Greenlee counties, saw an increase in the number of voters, growing six-tenths of 1 percent to 82,763.

Statewide, the voter rolls increased by 7,256, to 4.5 million. Republicans dropped by 4,603 to 1.6 million. Meanwhile Democrats dropped by 7,888 voters to 1.3 million, while independents increased by 16,536 to 1.53 million.
