Raymond “JR” Perry killed in motorcycle accident on Swift Trail

A long-time resident of Graham County was killed in a motorcycle accident while traveling up Swift Trail Highway on Monday.

Investigating DPS officer say that Raymond “JR” Perry, 61, was riding with three other motorcycle enthusiasts Monday afternoon. According to investigating DPS Officers, he was traveling above the speed limit and was unable to negotiate a curve. The accident occurred at approximately 2:12 PM.

Perry apparently crossed the eastbound traffic lane, left the eastbound side off the roadway, and rolled down a rocky embankment. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. He was deceased at the scene due to injuries sustained from the collision.

Graham County Deputies, ADOT, Lifeline Ambulance Service, and Vining Funeral Home assisted at the scene.

Perry was driving a black 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he left the highway, west bound at milepost 119, on Swift Trail Highway.
