SAFFORD – A public scoping meeting for a proposed dam on the Gila River will be held at the Graham County General Services Building in Safford on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 4 PM to 7 PM. The meeting will provide information and seek public comment about a water diversion project proposed for the Gila River. The project, called the New Mexico Unit of the Central Arizona Project, is the proposed infrastructure that would divert Gila River water for consumptive use in New Mexico.
