SAFFORD —The Project Luke Christmas Blessing is in search of families in need to help this holiday season.

The event, put on the last 16 years by multiple churches, provides gifts for entire families — from infant to adult — including clothing and toiletries, a bicycle for every child, tablets for older children and toys. The families also have a meal served to them at the Manor House Convention Center.

“This year, if things don’t change, then we will do it as a drive-through, and they will go through the (New Life City) Church parking lot. We will hand over their boxes and they will have a coupon where they can . . . call for their meal whenever they’re ready,” said Project Luke co-chair Alica Parra during a recent appearance on Voice of the Valley.

The Project Luke Christmas Blessing will take place Dec. 11.

To nominate a family or to self-nominate, call 928-428-4384 between 9 a.m. and noon Monday through Thursday, or 928-965-0866 from 1-5 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Nominated families will be interviewed in October.
