THATCHER — The next few weeks will prove quite busy for the local VFW post.

Sunday, Oct. 10, will see the return of Bingo. Doors open at 11 a.m. and play starts at 1:15 p.m. The VFW promises new games and payouts, plus raffles for items donated by local businesses.

Saturday, Oct. 23, will see a vendor event in the VFW parking lot, starting at 10 a.m. Adult and children’s costume contests will take place from 1-2 p.m., followed by a fish or chicken dinner from 5-7 p.m. Cost for the dinner is $10 per plate.

“Oct. 23 we’re also starting a dance for families,” said Jeri Bergstrom with the VFW Auxiliary. “You can bring your kids, you can let them get tired out there on the floor, and take them home and put them to bed.”

Dancing is from 6-10 p.m. and cost is $5 per person or $8 a couple.

Finally, VFW Auxiliary Post 10385’s annual Nickel Auction will take place Saturday, Nov. 13. Doors will open at 9:30 a.m. and food, door prizes and raffles will be available. The auction will start at 2:30 p.m.
