Plenty to do at Safford Library

SAFFORD — Things are heating up at the Safford City-Graham County Library.

“We’re kind of jumping back into programming for the new year, so there (are) several things happening,” said Leslie Talley, library supervisor.

In partnership with the U of A Cooperative Extension, there will be a series of classes on canning foods; teens will be given a chance to explore the worlds of Japanese manga and anime; and, for youths of all ages, there are the Lego Club open building programs.

This week, the Library will host an open house to introduce the parents and pre-teens to the “I’m Super Curious” hands-on STEAM exhibit that will be at the library through February.

“It’s about observing the natural phenomenon of the natural world around us. So we’ll be looking at animals, weather patterns, how air moves, some things like that,” Talley said.

The open house takes place Wednesday, Jan. 12, from 3:30-6:30 p.m., and, like all library functions, is free to attend.
