SAFFORD — The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers traveling on U.S. Highway 70, between Reay Lane and 8th Street (mileposts 335.6-340), to plan for upcoming lane restrictions for the pavement rehabilitation project in Thatcher and Safford.

Eastbound Highway 70 will be narrowed to one lane at 20th Avenue (milepost 338) nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday, Nov. 16, and Monday, Nov. 17.

Eastbound Highway 70 right lane restrictions between mileposts 335.6 and 340 will occur daily from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday as crews continue ADA ramp work.

Motorists should plan for rolling lane restrictions as crews work in multiple sections each day throughout the project area.

The speed limit will be reduced to 35 mph in the work zone

Drivers should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.

Schedules are subject to change due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances.
