KLONDYKE — With fire activity slowing, only residents of the Black Rock Road area remain evacuated due to the Pinnacle fire.

The fire in the Santa Teresa Wilderness is at 34,395 acres and is at 42-percent containment.

Work is now turning to installation of water bars to prevent erosion, repairing bulldozer lines and chipping brush cut from the fire lines.

Also a Burned Area Emergency Repair (BEAR) team has been called in to survey the severity of the fire, and begin work to try and minimize impact from potential flooding and erosion.

Dragoon residents were allowed to return to their homes Wednesday, after being evacuated due to the Walnut fire.

The fire above Texas Canyon is at 8,572 acres and is at 0-percent containment.

Due to the increased amount of wildfire activity across the state, Arizona State Trust land in all 15 counties will close to the public starting Friday. That joins the closure of five of the six national forests in Arizona — Apache-Sitgreaves, Coconino, Kaibab, Prescott and Tonto.

Remaining open are the Coronado National Forest and Arizona State Parks.
