Thursday kicks-off Fair weekend

SAFFORD — “It’s the 95th Graham County Fair. Boots, chaps and cowboy hats is the theme,” said Vance Bryce, executive director for the Graham County Chamber of Commerce.

The fair runs Thursday through Sunday, and animal exhibitions and judging will take place Thursday. Horticulture and floraculture will be exhibited and judged Friday.

The fair gates will open to the public at 5 p.m. Thursday and the fair will be open until 11 p.m., Friday’s hours are noon to 11 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 5 p.m.

The fair parade down Safford’s Main Street will take place Friday at 10 a.m.

The carnival and midway is back this year, along with the vendors and exhibits in the commercial buildings.

“Back by popular demand is the House of Butterflies, which is an entertainment and educational exhibit containing 100-300 live butterflies for fair attendees to interact with and see,” Bryce said.

Children will also be able to take part in the 1800s Pioneer Experience New Old-Fashioned Fun, and families will be able to enjoy live music throughout the weekend.

Attendees can plan their entire fair weekend by viewing the complete schedule of events in the 2021 Fair Book, attached below.
