SAFFORD — Arizona Department of Transportation announced that right-turn lane restrictions will be in place on U.S. Highway 70 in Safford and Thatcher on March 1-6.
The restrictions will be in place nightly, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., as part of the pavement rehabilitation project taking place between 8th Street in Safford and Reay Lane in Thatcher. Speed will be limited to 35 miles an hour in the work zones.
In addition, rolling right-lane restrictions on the highway will be in place for installation of ADA ramps.
ADOT previously announced that daytime lane restrictions for the paving of the inside and center lanes will be in place March 4-16, from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. And overnight lane restrictions for the paving of the outside lanes and intersections will be in place from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., March 17 to mid-April.
Traffic signals will be deactivated and police will control traffic when work is taking place in intersections.
The project is expected to be complete by June.
