SAFFORD — Arizona Department of Transportation announced that center and inside lane restrictions will be in place on U.S. Highway 70 in Safford and Thatcher now through March 23.

The restrictions will be in place nightly, from 6:30 p.m. to 6 a.m., as part of the pavement rehabilitation project taking place between 8th Street in Safford and Reay Lane in Thatcher. Speed will be limited to 35 miles an hour in the work zones.

In addition, rolling right-lane restrictions on the highway will be in place for installation of ADA ramps.

Traffic signals will be deactivated and police will control traffic when work is taking place in intersections.

The project is expected to be complete by June.
