One dead in multi-vehicle collision on Highway 70

FORT THOMAS — One person was killed and two others injured in a multi-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 70 Tuesday.

The incident occurred at 6:16 a.m. and, according to Department of Public Safety, preliminary investigation indicates a large truck had a tire blowout at mile marker 306. The driver appeared to have lost control of the vehicle, resulting in it overturning and colliding with at least two other vehicles, one of which was another large truck.

One person was declared dead at the scene and two others were transported to area hospitals with undisclosed injuries. Identities and from which vehicles the victims were in were not released.

Graham County Sheriff’s Office, Pima Rescue and Fort Thomas Rescue assisted at the scene.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
