SAFFORD — Second cycle grants from United Way of Graham and Greenlee Counties were announced Monday, and three initiatives received more than $100,000 each.
The Pima Fire Department was awarded $150,000 for fire engine replacement, the Safford Downtown Association received $114,000 for renovation of the Safford Theatre and Tooth B.U.D.D.S. received $100,000 for its oral hygiene program in area schools.
Between the Cycle 2 grants and the regular monthly grants and sponsorships, the United Way board issued $799,723 in funding for 25 initiatives.
