SAFFORD — Middle and high schoolers who have been learning about the dangers and pitfalls surrounding teen pregnancy from Graham County Health Department want to share what they’ve learned via art.
“Part of the program . . . includes a 20-hour community service project,” said Health Department Director Brian Douglas. “This year, our students would like to have two inspirational murals painted on the walls of the Safford Middle School, as well as the high school.”
The students will design the murals — one at each school — and the murals will be painted by Brandt Woods, the artist behind Safford’s Downtown Mural Project.
Douglas said the principals for each school have agreed to project, which will cost about $9,000. The Graham County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the expenditure.
