PHOENIX — The Arizona Interscholastic Association released the initial football reclassification yesterday. The only local team on the move is the Morenci Wildcats.
The reclassification committee moved the ‘Cats up to 3A after appearing in two straight 2A State Championship games. The same committee moved Arizona Lutheran and Parker back down to 2A from 3A after just one season in the bigger conference.
Morenci has until January 5th to appeal the move.
