Michael Antonio Guillen, age 49, entered eternal life Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Mike was born April 26, 1973, in Billings, Montana to Joaquin Guillen and Sherry Chapa.
Mike’s love and passion has always been to his wife and family. He gave his heart and soul to ensuring his family and friends always had a reason to smile. His love and energy to them was unsurpassed, and only heightened by sharing his love of the ocean or mountains. If he wasn’t carving the Rockies, he and his wife were always on an extraordinary adventure, sharing their love with others, making both memories and friends with everyone he encountered.
Mike was a successful businessman and entrepreneurial in spirit. In the early 90’s he worked on the cutting edge of fiber optic integration. He opened and owned restaurants in the Greater Phoenix area, then moved to Colorado to expand his career as a Sr. Program Manager overseeing the development of some of America’s largest data centers and the redesign of IT systems for the VA hospitals across the country. Mike was dedicated, committed, and had relentless drive in achieving his goals.
To have known Mike was an honor. The fabric from which he was cut is one of the most pure and rarest materials in existence, and he will forever be remembered and missed.
Mike is survived and missed by: his wife, Kristi Guillen; children, Alexia Guillen, Cody Guillen, Chelsi (Salvatore) Catanese, Jordan (Maria) Chapa; and his 8 beautiful grandchildren. Welcoming him into heaven: he will be met by his mother Sherry Chapa, and his brothers, Joseph Miranda and Joey Merino.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate the blessing of Mike will be celebrated Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morenci, Arizona, by Rev. Nathanial Mma. Committal will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery.
A Rosary will be offered Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 12:00 p.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church.
