TUCSON — Fund-raising by Democratic challenger JoAnna Mendoza outpaced Republican incumbent Congressman Juan Ciscomani by more than 30 percent between July 1 and Sept. 30.
That’s according to filings released by the Federal Elections Commission Wednesday.
According to the receipts and disbursements filing, Mendoza received $673,111.85 in contributions other than loans, and reimbursed $3,750.10, for a net contribution of $669,361.75.
Ciscomani reported $470,789.05 in contributions other than loans, and reimbursed $12,086.07, for a net contribution of $458,702.98.
“I’m deeply moved by the outpouring of support our campaign has received,” Mendoza said in a press release. “Arizonans are putting their money where their values are, and it’s not behind their current representative.
However, Ciscomani holds a distinct advantage when it comes to cash on-hand.
As of Sept. 30, Ciscomani reported a war chest of $2.4 million, 60 percent more than Mendoza’s cash on-hand balance of $949,683.98.
