SAFFORD – Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center announced Wednesday that all staff and visitors are now required to wear masks while at the hospital.
The new rule goes into effect April 2 and the mask must cover the nose and mouth. Homemade masks will be accepted.
“The purpose of this mask is not as respiratory protection to the person wearing the mask, but as protection to others from the person wearing the mask who may be an asymptomatic carrier,” hospital officials said in making the announcement.
Due to the new regulation, the hospital is also asking the public to donate sewn masks. Those willing to sew or donate are asked to call 928-348-4600.
