SAFFORD — The Graham County Chamber of Commerce recently notified its members that a firm from outside the area may be misrepresenting its relationship with the organization.
In an e-mail to Chamber members dated Nov. 30, the chamber stated it received a report from a member that the company Mass Marketing Inc. of Fairfield, Ohio, was attempting to sell ads by using the Chamber’s name.
“We are not working with them, they are not officially sanctioned,” Bryce said. “We are not affiliated with the group out of Ohio.”
Speaking with Gila Valley Central, Kelly Baker, with Mass Marketing Inc. said the company is not representing itself as working with or for the Chamber.
Baker said that maps of the Gila Valley the company has produced are available in the Chamber’s Visitor Center; however, Bryce said there are no maps from Mass Marketing Inc. in the building.
“We are not suggesting that you do not do business with this particular vendor, but we don’t encourage it either, as their sales tactics appear to be based in dishonesty,” the e-mail from the Chamber read.
