GRAHAM COUNTY — A man avoided injury after his vehicle struck and killed two deer.
The incident occurred Wednesday, May 28, just before 10 p.m.
The man said he was driving northbound on Brookerson Road in southern Graham County, just east of the Olson and NatureSweet greenhouses, when a number of deer ran across the roadway.
The man, who said he was traveling at 60 miles an hour in a 55-mile-an-hour zone, said he slowed to about 40 miles an hour in hopes of avoiding collision; however, two of the deer were hit. Graham County Sheriff’s deputies located the deer, deceased at the side of the road.
The driver was wearing his seatbelt and reported no injuries as a result of the incident.
