Louie H. Marquez, age 86, of Silver City, New Mexico, and a long-time resident of Safford, entered into rest September 2, 2022, at the Haven of Safford.
Louie was born October 11, 1936, to Francisco and Alfonsa Marquez in Santa Rita, New Mexico. Louie held a position as foreman at WNMU, and also worked at the Sky View Drive-In for several years. He also worked at the copper mine in Morenci, Arizona.
Louie is survived by: two sons, Adam Marquez (Terri) and Oscar; two daughters, Yvonne Marquez and Nora Bell; three brothers, Lorenzo Marquez, Arturo Marquez, and Vincent Marquez; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Louie was preceded in death by: his parents, Francisco and Alfonsa Marquez; wife, Rosemary Marquez; one grandaughter, Vanessa Jaramillo; one grandson, Michael Louie Tavizon; Sisters, Rosa, Chela, and Stella; and one brother, Simon Marquez.
Funeral Services for Louie will be conducted Monday, September 12, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at Vining Funeral Home’s, “Chapel of the Valley” by Pastor Preston Clonts. Concluding services will follow in the Safford Cemetery.
Family will receive friends Monday, September 12, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
