Locario Hernandez Sr

Locario Hernandez Sr, a lifelong resident of Thatcher, Arizona, entered into eternal rest Saturday afternoon, November 11, 2023, at his residence, surrounded by his family following a long battle of illness. Locario was 73.

Locario Hernandez Sr was a beloved Husband, Father, Brother, son, uncle and grandfather. Locario was born October 6, 1950, in the town of Morenci Arizona, to his mother, Guadalupe Hernandez. He was one of fourteen siblings. Locario spent his early years of life in San Jose Arizona. He attended Solomonville school.

He had been dealing with heart issues since 2004. He was resilient of giving up on life. Locario started working in the farms at the young age of eleven years old, then went to work at Phelps Dodge in the early 70’s thereafter Haralsons tires; then Dominguez furniture thereafter. In the early 80’s Locario worked for CKC. He retired after thirty-one years. Locario was a hard worker, and a great provider for his family.

Locario met his wife, Lillian, in 1967 and married in 1968, where they later had six children: Donna Ornelas, Locario Hernandez Jr, Lisa Adams, Doris Medina, Frankie Hernandez and Jordan Hernandez; as well as twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Locario’s proudest moment of his life was being able to be around his family that truly loved him. In his early years dad enjoyed hunting, fishing, building motors, and driving to the casino.

Locario was a religious man; he believed in God and was a walking testimony. Let us remember Locario Hernandez Sr by his hard work ethic and the kindness of his heart that he showed us. Gone but never forgotten those blue eyes. Forever in our hearts. We love you dad.
