Lillian E. Rivas, 83, of Pima, Arizona, entered into rest Saturday, October 5, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Lillian was the first born of three children to Vincent and Frances Mendoza on May 31, 1941. On November 4, 1961, she married the love of her life, Abraham Rivas, Jr., and they were blessed with 62 years of marriage and four children. Lillian was a devoted Catholic, a member of the Spanish Choir, the Altar Rosary Society of Holy Cross, Morenci, and Eucharistic Minister, and she lived her Cursillo as well as served many years with the Cursillo ministry at Sacred Heart in Clifton. Lillian joined St. Rose of Lima Catholic Daughters in 2018 when they moved to Pima, Arizona.
Lillian is survived by: her husband, Abraham; daughters, Frances Rivas, Sandra (Ramon) Aguilar, Shelley Vaughn; and son, Abraham Rivas, III; her grandchildren, Jose Aguilar, Ricardo (Shari) Aguilar, Elena (Carlitos) Cabrera, Nycole (Ramon) Caldera, Paul Roger (Bobbie) Roybal, Reyna Pirtle, Michael Pena, Sarah Rivas, Angel Howard, Jase Jewell, Dominic Jewell, Hunter Jewell, Anthony John (Danielle) Parker, and William Parker; numerous great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Lillian will be celebrated on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church by Rev. Nicodemus Shaghel, V.C.
A Rosary and prayers will be offered on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., also at the church.
