Larry Dean Collins

Larry Dean Collins, of Thatcher, and a United States Army Veteran, entered into eternal life early Thursday morning, September 1, 2022, at his residence after a courageous fight against cancer. Larry was 72.

Larry was born March 19, 1950, in Knoxville, Tennessee to Lloyd Haun and Virginia Collins. He was raised in Maryville, Tennessee, graduating from Everett High School. He loved to play sports and enjoyed football most. After graduation from high school, Larry attended Tennessee Institute of Electronics.

His work history included working for the phone company as a field service technician and later for cable television. Larry served for 8 years in the United States Army, both teaching electronics and in electronic warfare, stationed in Augsburg, Germany. After leaving the military Larry worked as a diagnostic electrician for Kimberly Clark Corporation in Loudon, Tennessee and later for Freeport McMoran in Safford.

Larry leaves behind: his wife, Amy; and five children; Lisa Marie Cahoon (Robert) of College Place, Washington, Allison Renae Blaskey (Robert) of Maricopa, Arizona, David Scott (Kelsey) of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Merit Laree Innes (Bryant) of Safford, and Jacob Ross (Meagan), currently of Prescott, Arizona. He also leaves 9 grandchildren, Nathan, Daniel, Sean, Elizabeth, Ember, Asher, Adaline, Adolin, and Andrew.

Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 9:30 a.m., at the Thatcher Stake Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by Bishop Rhett Dodge of the Thatcher 1st ward. Concluding Services will follow at the Thatcher Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Friday, September 9, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., at Vining Funeral Home’s “Chapel of the Valley”.
